Carl-Gustav Lindén, a Swedish-speaking Finnish citizen, started his job as a senior communications consultant for the ReCom programme in August 2012. He has been a business journalist and editor working for print, radio, and television media. In May 2012 he defended his PhD thesis, 'National Champions in Combat: Nokia vs. Ericsson and the Sensemaking of Business News' (University of Helsinki). As a project manager he was also involved in developing journalism education.

Carl-Gustav Lindén has had a personal and professional interest in development issues already since the 1980s when he was travelling extensively and writing about development issues from a number of countries, mainly in Asia. During the years he has covered economic, political and social development in countries such as China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, Lebanon, Nigeria and Uganda. He has reported for newspapers and magazines not only in Finland but also in Sweden and Norway.
