UNU-WIDER in collaboration with the African Economics Research Consortium (AERC) will hold a one week course on the 'Economics of Climate Change' at the School of Economics, University of Cape Town, South Africa. African and international lecturers will introduce course participants to the main economic concerns surrounding climate change, as well as methods for conducting impact and vulnerability assessments. The Cape Town course is a continuation of a two-week online course conducted by UNU-WIDER and AERC in May 2011 entitled 'The Science of Climate Change and Biophysical Modeling'. Participants for these courses include 30 scholars from 17 African countries.
