Afghanistan, Somalia, Bosnia, Kosovo or Georgia – reconstruction from war and conflict is a daunting task. Countries face huge challenges with too few resources to meet these needs: rebuilding infrastructure, assisting war-damaged communities, re-creating weakened institutions.
And without proper reconstruction, countries may easily regress back into war, as numerous examples around the world sharply illustrate.
In this book presentation, the editors of ‘Making Peace Work’, Tony Addison and Tilman Brück, offer examples of what works and what doesn’t.
