On Tuesday 6 September 2011, the inaugural lecture of the HECER/UNU-WIDER Masters in Development Economics programme was given by Professor Finn Tarp, Director of UNU-WIDER at the Aalto University School of Economics in Helsinki Finland. 65 Students turned up to hear Professor Tarp lecture on the foundations of development economics.
