UNU-WIDER Announcement

After completing two successful terms as head of the institute Anthony Shorrocks has concluded his service as Director of UNU-WIDER on 30 April 2009. Professor Shorrocks became Director in January 2001, succeeding Professor Giovanni Andrea Cornia, who led UNU-WIDER from 1995 to 1999. The new director, Finn Tarp, currently Professor of Development Economics at the University of Copenhagen, will take up the position on 1 September 2009. In the interim period 1 May to 31 August 2009, Professor Augustin Fosu, UNU-WIDER Deputy Director, will function as Officer-in-Charge.
