How to use the provisional 2015 Myanmar SAM for economy-wide descriptive analysis and modelling analysis

Team workshop on how to use the provisional 2015 Myanmar SAM for economy-wide descriptive analysis and modelling analysis

In August 2018, UNU-WIDER and the Central Statistical Organization (CSO) of the Ministry of Planning and Finance of Myanmar signed an agreement to develop a Social Accounting Matrix (SAM) and to conduct economy-wide analysis using the SAM for the period 2019–20.

A 2015 Social Accounting Matrix prototype for Myanmar was compiled during the first half of 2018. This training course will include discussions on updating the prototype to include new data. Participating CSO staff will also learn how to use the 2015 Myanmar SAM for economy-wide descriptive analysis and modelling analysis.

Additional training courses will be organized in 2019. Upcoming sessions will go deeper into using a SAM for descriptive analysis and modelling purposes.
