On 12 and 13 November 2020, UNU-WIDER’s Transforming informal work and livelihoods project will hold an authors’ workshop online via Zoom.
The workshop will bring together researchers from various disciplines to present their papers on the composition of employment and transitions in informal work.
Participants will present the findings of studies that are being considered for a journal special issue following from the request for research proposals launched by UNU-WIDER in May 2019. The discussion will provide the authors with the opportunity to share initial results, gather feedback, and consider ways to advance their research.
Part of UNU-WIDER’s 2019–23 work programme, the Transforming informal work and livelihoods project aims to address the existing knowledge gaps on the causes of informality and the most effective mechanisms to reduce informality, providing evidence for better policymaking and enhancing the livelihoods of those in informal work.
