Work-in-progress meeting on tax research collaboration in Uganda


As part of the Building up efficient and fair tax systems – lessons based on administrative tax data project, a work-in-progress meeting is held in-person between UNU-WIDER and Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) in Kampala on 12 October 2022.

The topics discussed in this meeting include the revenue impacts of tax audits, research combining administrative tax data and tax-benefit microsimulation model UGAMOD, tax optimization and running the secure research lab at URA premises. The plans for future research projects, trainings, and other collaboration are also discussed in the meeting.

The Building up efficient and fair tax systems – lessons based on administrative tax data project is part of UNU-WIDER's programme on Domestic Revenue Mobilization (DRM). The DRM programme is financed by the Norwegian development co-operation agency Norad.
