Tillman Hönig

Research Associate

Tillman Hönig is a development economist, and Research Associate at UNU-WIDER where he works on the research project Institutional legacies of violent conflict. More broadly, his research engages with conflict and displacement, labour markets, structural transformation, migration and education in the context of developing economies. Regionally, his research focuses on sub-Saharan Africa. He works both theoretically and empirically, and has expertise in the application and estimation of general equilibrium economic geography models.

Tillman is currently finishing his PhD in economics at the London School of Economics (LSE) where he obtained a Master’s degree in 2017. He taught econometrics and microeconomics at the LSE for six years, and has worked in development policy for KfW Development Bank and the German Development Ministry.
