TIPS Annual Forum 2015 - Regional Industrialization and Integration

As part of the UNU-WIDER Research Programme theme of Sustainability the Institute is partnering with Trade & Industrial Policy Strategies (TIPS) of South Africa to host their Annual Forum with the theme of regional industrialization and integration in partnership with the University of the Witwatersrand and USAID Southern Africa Trade Hub Program, in association with the Department of Trade and Industry, National Treasury and the Department of Performance Monitoring and Evaluation

The conference aims to deepen understanding of regional industrialization, the role of South Africa in that context, the value chains operating across the region, and the links between regional industrialization and regional integration.

The Forum is platform for researchers, policymakers and other stakeholders to present research and engage in dialogue on policy-relevant issues. During the Forum a special Poster Session will be held where students, young economists, and junior researchers are able to present their research to conference delegates through a short presentation and using a poster.

The Forums have overarching themes and have been running since 1997. The TIPS Annual Forum 2015 follows on last year's International Conference on Manufacturing Led Growth for Employment and Equality.

You can find more information and the programme on the TIPS Annual Forum website.

The Forum will be held at the Wits Club, University of the Witwatersrand, Braamfontein.
