Growth and Poverty Project (GAPP). Lead Authors' meeting

UNU-WIDER will launch a new two-year research programme called Reconciling Africa’s Growth, Poverty and Inequality Trends': Growth and Poverty Project (GAPP).

The GAPP will bring together researchers from leading African and international universities and think tanks to reevaluate poverty data and measurements. The goal of the project is to try to reconcile growth and poverty trends in a number of Sub-Saharan African countries. Part of the research will involve measuring monetary and non-monetary poverty in consistent ways across both countries and time.
