Taxation and revenue mobilization in developing countries

This workshop, held in cooperation with the International Centre for Tax and Development, is part of the project Macro-economic management (M-EM). The two day event consists of a series of presentations and meetings in which the research teams discuss their work in progress.

M-EM explores how macroeconomics of development is evolving; what the policy priorities are as the global economy undergoes transformation (with more countries moving from low- to middle- income status); the impact of global economic turbulence (including the aftermath of the 2008-09 financial crisis) and where the direction of future research and policy lies. Macro-economic management has steadily improved in most low- and middle-income countries over recent decades.

This workshop looks particularly at the issues of taxation and revenue mobilization and includes discussions on trade, natural resources, health, political economy, and conflict. The event finishes with a discussion of potential future publications.
