UNU-WIDER 2023 Annual Report is released
Helsinki, Finland – UNU-WIDER has released its Annual Report for 2023, showcasing a year of impactful research, policy influence, and global collaboration aimed at tackling some of the world's most pressing challenges. The report reflects on the successful conclusion of the institute's 2019–23 work programme and sets the stage for its ambitious next phase, focusing on creating fiscal space for development, building sustainable peace, and reducing inequalities.
In his foreword, UNU-WIDER Director Kunal Sen highlighted the institute's significant accomplishments over the past five years, including the publication of over 800 working papers and the hosting of numerous international forums that brought together key stakeholders from across the globe.
'Our efforts have culminated in a comprehensive report that not only synthesizes insights from more than 30 research projects but also serves as a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team and our partners', said Sen.
The 2023 report details the institute's continued impact across the Global South, with country profiles on our research in Ecuador and Indonesia, a feature on stories of change and impact, and an in-depth account of the synthesis report process and subsequent dissemination events.
