Strategies of Social Provision

Whether poor countries operate under the supervision of the state, the market, the civil society, or the combination of two or all, there must be sound frameworks for intervention strategies and an extension of aids from other nations, especially in the case of shocks. Pertinent concerns in the creation of an appropriate and reliable design for the provision of necessary social services are tackled in this chapter, including the significance of incentives to ‘capable agents,’, the distribution of tasks, and the resolution to the universal access to social services. The chapter does not claim an exhaustive discussion of all the relevant issues in the conceptualisation of designs, but is certainly able to provide the most important elements. Instead of assessing the current performance of the involved systems, the chapter concentrates on the formulation of a more coherent basis of planning and evaluation of social provision mechanisms.
