What can foreign do for economic growth and jobs? An important role of aid is to help poor countries mobilize their resources for producing goods and services, thus supporting egrowth. Even though aid is small in comparison to other resources it can help to stimulate direct foreign investments—for instance by building infrastructure such as ports that create more growth.

The film is part of a series produced by UNU-WIDER with the programme 'ReCom–Research and Communication on Foreign Aid'. It can, for instance, be used when teaching students about aid and what it can help achieve.
