Findings from recent research based on Ugandan administrative tax data

Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) and UNU-WIDER organise a research dissemination workshop on 15 November 2023 in Kampala, Uganda. The workshop presents recent policy-relevant research findings that take advantage of the URA firm panel, a dataset constructed from administrative corporate income tax (CIT) returns and firm registration data.

WIDER Working Papers presented at the event:

The datasets used for these papers are found at the URA secure research lab, which is a repository of clean anonymized tax data. Read more about the data lab here.

In addition to the research presentations, the event includes comments from a discussant, a policy panel addressing the challenges and opportunities related to corporate income tax, and Q&A sessions providing the audience the opportunity to contribute to the debate.

This initiative is part of the collaboration under the Building up efficient and fair tax systems – lessons based on administrative tax data project, which is part of UNU-WIDER's research and capacity development programme on domestic revenue mobilization (DRM), funded by the Norwegian Agency for Development Co-operation (Norad).
